Learn more about Uncle Phannob Camping

Our Mission

Uncle Phannob Camping is dedicated to providing world-class outdoor education experiences in Thailand. We believe in the transformative power of nature and adventure to develop resilient, confident, and capable young people.

Working with schools across Asia, we create bespoke programmes that combine challenge and safety, ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow beyond their comfort zone in a supportive environment.

Our Values

Safety First

Every decision we make starts with safety. We maintain the highest standards of risk management and staff training.

Student Growth

We design experiences that challenge students appropriately, building confidence, resilience, and life skills.

Environmental Respect

We teach and practice environmental stewardship, leaving minimal impact on the natural spaces we use.

Our Team

Our team of experienced outdoor educators, certified instructors, and passionate adventurers work together to deliver exceptional programmes. With backgrounds spanning military training, teaching, mountaineering, and wilderness medicine, our staff bring a diverse range of expertise to every programme we run.

Our Location

Nestled in the Khao Yai Thiang highlands of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Uncle Phannob Camping sits at the edge of one of Thailand's most spectacular natural landscapes. Our camp is located near Pak Chong — the gateway town to Khao Yai National Park, Thailand's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The surrounding area offers an extraordinary diversity of terrain for outdoor education — from dense tropical rainforest and open grasslands to river valleys and mountain ridges reaching over 750 metres. The Lam Takhong Reservoir and its dramatic wind turbine ridge provide a stunning backdrop, while the nearby national park is home to over 300 wild elephants, gibbons, hornbills, and more than 200 bird species.

This region was designated a geopark in 2015, recognising its unique geological features including dinosaur fossil sites and prehistoric paintings. For schools running Duke of Edinburgh's International Award expeditions or adventurous journeys, the varied terrain and well-maintained trail networks make it an ideal setting for Bronze through Gold level trekking programmes.

Getting Here

Just two hours from Bangkok thanks to the M6 Motorway (Bang Pa-in – Nakhon Ratchasima), our camp is remarkably accessible for schools based in the capital or arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The motorway connects directly to the Pak Chong exit, from where our camp is a short drive into the highlands.

By Road

Approximately 2 hours from Bangkok via the M6 Motorway. Take the Pak Chong exit and follow signs towards Khao Yai Thiang.

By Bus

Regular services run from Bangkok's Mo Chit Bus Terminal to Pak Chong (2.5–3 hours). We can arrange transfers from Pak Chong to camp.

By Train

Scenic rail services from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong station to Pak Chong (3–4 hours). Transfers from the station can be arranged for all groups.

Beyond our camp programmes, the Khao Yai region offers a wealth of experiences that can complement any school trip or extend a visit.
